What is the purpose of education?

I have always thought of education as a synonym for studying math and science rules and knowing historical facts with geographical places. I had never thought of the deep meaning of education until I started my Teaching Diploma. Studying education provides us with a broader, more in-depth understanding of others, ourselves, and the world around us. I have learned how to better me to help others learn. Education is the process by which people give moral values to each other, it is very important and highly valued in today's society; education raise socially active citizen that will be successful in their lives, the process of education begins during childhood by which individuals acquire the values, habits, and attitudes of a society and it continues throughout life. Education is not just schooling in academics but, it is part of life itself. School's education should be aware of the interests and motivations of the environment to develop a person socially able to lead his actions and face problems, rather than relying on traditional ways to function.

What can we do now that we were not able to do a year ago

The COVID-19 crisis has forced educational systems all across the world to seek out alternatives to face-to-face instruction. As a result, teachers and students have begun to use online teaching and learning. A year ago there was nothing called online learning/teaching and not everyone had the chance to keep going through their educational journey. The online option gave a chance for almost everyone to go back to the track of education including me, which is an effective thing aside from the pandemic we are going through.

Challenges you face when learning/teaching online

As the world's education system is thrown into disorder by the coronavirus, an increasing number of teachers are being required to instruct their students from home.

First, there will not always be a good internet connection or a device accessible for students to use in every home. Second, 'Attention' is one of the most significant issues that instructors confront nowadays when teaching online. When taking online lessons, children have the freedom to silence their microphones (and talk to anyone they choose), and some youngsters are strolling away from their class.

What do you think students should be taught when working online to avoid problems

As an instructor, you are in a unique position to help young people understand how to use the internet safely. Here are some tips for teaching youngsters how to surf the internet securely and communicate with friends and family without fear of cyberbullying or cyber-bullying.

Teach students about online privacy

kids nowadays are usually aware of the dangers of sharing passwords or addresses online; nevertheless, there are new concerns that they may not be aware of. Spend some time talking with your students about how their favourite websites and applications keep their data.

Always use school-related email addresses

Never communicate with your students using their personal email addresses. To maintain online safety, it is critical to use district-provided email accounts.

My opinion about integrating technology into teaching

Teachers want to see their students perform better, and technology may help them do so. To address the issues, administrators should assist instructors in gaining the skills they need to use technology to improve student learning. Furthermore, using technology in the classroom should make instructors' tasks simpler.

Collaboration can be improved by educational technology. Teachers can interact with students throughout class, but students can also interact with one another. Students collaborate to solve challenges through online classes and learning activities. Students can share their views and ideas and encourage one another in collaborative tasks. At the same time, technology allows students to communicate with professors. Students can ask questions about what they're learning in class and get extra support with subjects that are tough to understand. Students may upload their homework from home, and teachers can use their laptops to access and see completed assignments.

In my opinion, integrating technology into teaching can affect education in an effective way.

Tools used in online assessment

Teachers' online assessment tools are an important aspect of the remote learning picture. You must know what your kids comprehend from one day to the next. If you know what their learning gaps are, you can tailor your lectures to address them.
See the list of some assessment tools in education below for tracking student progress, with tips for how to use them.

1. Google Forms
Even if it's your first time using Google Forms, it's a favourite among teachers since it's quick and easy to create and automatically grade quizzes. Make a simple answer key with point assignments for each question and create multiple-choice or short-answer tests.

2. Mentimeter

Among evaluation tools used in the classroom, professional reviewers and instructors give Mentimeter a good rating. It includes a listening skills exam, icebreakers, formative assessments, post-lecture surveys, and polls, as well as other educational templates for the classroom. Create quizzes and examinations, manage student expectations, engage students, and even host a teacher training session.

3. Poll Everywhere

It works with Google programs such as Google Slides and Microsoft PowerPoint and Keynote.

EDUC561 class

EDUC561 is one of my favourite courses because its full of activities and practical work which I prefer. Additionally, our instructor explains this course in a very productive way, she encourages us and immediately we become motivated till the end of the session. Even though the doctor is very patient which gives us confidence to ask any question related to the lesson being explained. In this way all students move out of the course well educated. Moreover, this course is very useful for us as teachers, it helps us to know more about different applications that can be used in education which makes it easier while using online teaching. But I wish if the electricity and WIFI were more stable to keep following all time.
